Mountain Creek Staff
We believe every person has next steps they can take to become the person God created them to be. The staff is not called to do ministry for you, but to lead you in taking your next step and serving with us to help people who are far from God discover real life in Christ.
As an organization we simply could not accomplish our mission without a cohesive team. This page is in place to introduce to you that team. Below is a listing of those God has positioned perfectly to represent and shepherd God’s children. Feel free to read and learn a little more about who we are.
I grew up in an amazing Christian family and mainly due to their influence, I accepted Jesus as my Savior when I was 8 years old. During my teen years, my relationship with Christ continued to grow stronger and eventually I accepted God’s call to full time ministry. Serving in the local church has truly been a journey that has strengthened my faith and stretched me in ways that I would have never imagined. Involvement with others coming to know Christ and growing in their faith is a joy that drives my everyday life.
My Journey to Real Life:
My journey to Real Life has taken many years. It has been a privilege to serve in several churches over the last 25 years and to lead in various roles including youth pastor, family ministry pastor and senior pastor. In the fall of 2013, Pastor Mike asked me to join the Real Life team to help lead the process of beginning multiple campuses and train leaders to reach our world for Christ.
My wife, Penny and I were married in 1990. She has been an amazing partner in ministry through the years. We have been blessed with two awesome daughters, Sydney and Karlee. Both of our girls love Christ and enjoy serving the local church and on the mission field.
My desire is to impact people for Christ, help them grow in His grace, and discover their passion to use their gifts to point others toward Christ.
I came to Christ as a teenager in an incredible student ministry. My faith in God comes from many life experiences and several Godly men who gave up their time to disciple a young, arrogant, kid like me. I was also blessed to have two parents who were adamant about making sure I didn’t make the mistakes they did. All of this, combined with a desire to get to know my heavenly Father, brought me to a decision to give my life to Christ. I believe the only way to Heaven is through Jesus, and the Bible is the actual words of God.
Journey to Real Life
My journey here has been paved with many life experiences. I served for about a decade in other churches as a Youth Minister, Worship Pastor, Associate Pastor, and now a Small Groups Pastor. I feel blessed to be able to be apart of such a Kingdom Minded Church, and with a staff who cares deeply about transforming lives.
My family is crazy, passionate, and deeply in love with Jesus. I am a father of three beautiful children and husband to an Incredible woman. We are an imperfect bunch of sinners and that makes us perfect for a church like Real Life. We accept all, love all, and desire to bring all closer to Jesus.
I excepted Christ in my life at a young age but didn't understand my relationship with him until my mid twenties. At that time I was baptist and ready to serve him with all my heart. I couldn't imagine my life without Christ & his forgiveness.
My Journey to Real Life:
I came to Real Life one Sunday in November of 2011. One Sunday was all it took! I knew it was the church for our family. After coming for a couple of months I was ready to start volunteering in Wonder Way. When a new campus was talked about I felt God call me to leave the Lucia campus & join the team at the Mountain Creek Campus. Real Life church has helped me grow in ways I never imagined and I look forward to what God has for the future.
I married my husband (Doug) in 2008. We have two children Carlie and Brayden. We enjoy hanging out as a family in our free time.
I find an amazing joy in teaching little ones about God & how much He loves them. I look forward to each Sunday that I get to see them understand and grow in their learning about God.
I came to truly know God in 2012. Although I have always been around church, I never gave my entire life to Christ. In 2012 I asked Jesus to come into my heart and was baptized. I continue to learn more about God each day through my walk with Him.
My Journey to Real Life
I first visited Real Life in 2011 with my now husband, Aaron. The minute I walked into Real Life I knew it was home, and I have never left. I began volunteering in 2012 and loved interacting and impacting people in all aspects. In 2015 God then pushed my boundaries and comfort zone and called me to help start our next campus at our Mountain Creek campus.
Aaron and I have been married since 2013. We currently have no children. (Except our cat- Hope) We are also very close to my sister and spend a lot of time with our niece and nephew.
I love people, especially children. I love when children ask questions about God, and all the great things He has done for all of us. My goal is for each child to know how to make wise choices, how to treat others the way they want to be treated and that they can trust God no matter what.
