Today in Part 3 of Relentless, we learn that If we want to grow deeper in Christ, we must relentlessly pursue Him and form habits that will deepen our walk with Him.

Part 3 – Why We Must Relentlessly Pursue God

1. In Order to (Know Him)

I once thought these things were valuable, but now I consider them worthless because of what Christ has done. Yes, everything else is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord.
Philippians 3:7-8a (NLT)

2. To Confirm (My Salvation)

“…For his [Christ’s] sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ”
Philippians 3:8b (NLT)

3. Because I am (Still Imperfect)

“Not that I have already reached [the goal] or am already fully mature…”
Philippians 3:12a (HCSB)

4. Because He Has (Made Me His Own)

“But I make every effort to take hold of it [full maturity] because I also have been taken hold of by Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 3:12b (HCSB)

“…Work hard to show the results of your salvation, obeying God with deep reverence and fear. For God is working in you…”
Philippians 2:12-13 (NLT)

Go Deeper with God by Developing Rhythms with Him
Rhythms are intentional patterns … that I harness … to give God room to move.

1. Bring God into (my normal routine)

What rhythm in your daily life can you harness to make room for God to move?

2. (Intentionally build habits) that pursue God

But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.
Luke 5:16 (NIV)

Before daybreak the next morning, Jesus got up and went out to an isolated place to pray. Later Simon and the others went out to find him. When they found him, they said, “Everyone is looking for you.” But Jesus replied, “We must go on to other towns as well, and I will preach to them, too. That is why I came.”
Mark 1:35-38 NLT

Two Habits to Help You Go Deeper with God
1. Deepen through a Daily Time Alone with God
A. Select a (specific time)
B. Choose a (special place)

“Jesus left the city and went, as he usually did, to the Mount of Olives… to pray.”
Luke 22:39 GN

C. A Plan to get you started – Fifteen minutes with God

(Relax) (1 Minute)
(Read) (4 Minutes)
(Reflect) (4 minutes)
(Record) (2 minutes)
(Request) (4 minutes)

2. Deepen by Stepping Out in Faith – Four Signs

(A sense of urgency to obey) that requires trust
You sense God is asking you to (surrender something to Him)
The thing you feel led to do requires (reliance on God)
God is asking you to (believe Him in new ways)
