When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place. And suddenly there came from heaven a noise like a violent rushing wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. And there appeared to them tongues as of fire distributing themselves, and they rested on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit was giving them utterance. Acts 2:1-4 NASB

Is There Any Hope?

Hope is found…

1. (In God’s Promise)
After this I will pour out My Spirit on all humanity; then your sons and your daughters will prophesy, your old men will have dreams, and your young men will see visions. I will even pour out My Spirit on the male and female slaves in those days. Joel 2:28-29 CSB
“This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come.”

2. (In God’s Power)

I will display wonders in the heavens and on the earth; blood, fire, and columns of smoke. The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the great and terrible day of the LORD comes. Joel 2:30-31 CSB

Near is the great day of the LORD, near and coming very quickly…a day of wrath is that day, a day of trouble and distress, a day of destruction and desolation, a day of darkness and gloom, a day of clouds and thick darkness…I will bring distress on men so that they will walk like the blind, because they have sinned against the LORD… Zephaniah 1:14-17 NASB

“But immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will fall from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.” Matthew 24:29 NASB

3. (In God’s Provision)

Then everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved, for there will be an escape for those on Mt. Zion and in Jerusalem, as the LORD promised, among the survivors the LORD calls. Joel 2:32 CSB
