Jesus told His disciples that a day was coming when they could go directly to the Father and ask Him for anything using the name of Jesus and He would grant their request. In part three of Pray…like never before, Pastor Mike will teach us the significance of praying in the name of Jesus. We will then learn about a man in the bible called Jabez and find out how prayer played a part in him being able to live such a blessed life.

NOTES

Give ear to my prayer, O God; and do not hide Yourself from my supplication. Psalm 55:1 NASB

 Why Pray, “In Jesus Name”?

“In that day you will not question Me about anything. Truly, truly, I say to you, if you ask the Father for anything in My name, He will give it to you. Until now you have asked for nothing in My name; ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be full.”  John 16:23-24 NASB

1)  It gives (entry into the presence of God)

Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:16 NASB

2)  It reminds (the Father of the Son)

…who is the one who condemns?  Christ Jesus is He who died, yes, rather who was raised, who is at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us. Romans 8:34 NASB

3)  It submits (my request to the Father’s authority)

“Father, if You are willing, remove this cup from Me; yet not My will, but Yours be done.” Luke 22:42 NASB
