3 Foundations to Build From

(God is in control)

Yours, LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the splendor and the majesty, for everything in the heavens and on earth belongs to You. Yours, LORD, is the kingdom, and You are exalted as head over all. 1 Chronicles 29:11 CSB

 God Rules…

(Over Nature)

(Over History)

(Over Our Lives)

(I have free choice but not completely free)

Because God is in control…

  1. (My plans have a limit).

Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails. Proverbs 19:21 NIV

(Presumption) is the wrong attitude

Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring forth. Proverbs 27:1 NKJV

(Cooperation with God) is the right attitude

The mind of man plans his way, but the LORD directs his steps. Proverbs 16:9 NASB

2. (My problems have a purpose)

In this you greatly rejoice, even though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been distressed by various trials, so that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold which is perishable, even though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ. Peter 1:6-7 NASB

(God uses problems to shape people)

3) (My prayers have impact)

Now to Him who is able to do above and beyond all that we ask or think according to the power that works in us… Ephesians 3:20 CSB

Why I don’t get what I pray for:

1). (God is not a genie)

2). (At times, my prayers are conflicting)

3). (God knows what is best)

This is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him. 1 John 5:14-15 NASB

Questions to Ask:

(Do I Allow God to  Lead My Plans?)

(Do I Search for God’s Purpose in My Problems?)

(Do I Pray or Complain?)
