God is all powerful, but we, in our own strength, are not. When we face stressful situations, we must realize that our source of strength comes through God’s mighty power at work within us. In “Where to Turn When I’m All Stressed Out” part two, we will learn how to gain access to that power and trust God to help us when we are at our weakest.

NOTES

3 Foundations to Build From

1. (God is in control)

2. (God is all powerful)

Ah, Lord God! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and by Your outstretched arm! Nothing is too difficult for You. Jeremiah 32:17 NASB

I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe Him. This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead. Ephesians 1:19-20 NLT

2 Power Shortages

1. (Getting Started)

For I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my flesh. For the desire to do what is good is with me, but there is no ability to do it. Romans 7:18 CSB

(Trust God for the power to begin)

2. (Keep Going)

When I considered all that I had accomplished and what I had labored to achieve, I found everything to be futile and a pursuit of the wind. There was nothing to be gained under the sun. Ecclesiastes 2:11 CSB

(Trust God to give me the power to persist)

He gives strength to the weary, and to him who lacks might He increases power. Isaiah 40:29 NASB

How to Plug in to God’s Power

1. (Admit I need God’s help)

And He has said to me, “My Grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness.” Most gladly, therefore, I will boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me. 2 Corinthians 12:9 NASB

2. (Have faith)

“Let it be done for you according to your faith.” Matthew 9:29 CSB

3. (Speak in faith)

But having the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, “I BELIEVED, THEREFORE I SPOKE,” we also believe, therefore we also speak… 2 Corinthians 4:13 NASB

4. (Act in faith)

“It shall come about when the soles of the feet of the priests who carry the ark of the LORD, the Lord of all the earth, rest in the waters of the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan will be cut off, and the waters which are flowing down from above will stand in one heap.” Joshua 3:13 NASB
