He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul. Psalm 23:2 NKJV

Peace is found…

1.  (in the Presence of the Shepherd).

  * freedom from (fear)

For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline. 2 Timothy 1:7 NLT

  * freedom from (tension)

 …for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am. Philippians 4:11 NASB

   * freedom from (aggravation)

“I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you.”  John 14:16-17 NASB

     * freedom from (hunger)

“So I said, I will bring you up…to a land flowing with milk and honey.”  Exodus 3:17 NASB

2.  (in the Provision of the Shepherd).

“If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.”  John 7:37b-38 NKJV

Dew (personal quiet time)

Deep Wells (a crisis of belief)

Still Waters (Holy Spirit & Corporate Worship)

For my people have committed a double evil: They have abandoned Me, the fountain of living water, and dug cisterns for themselves—cracked cisterns that cannot hold water.  Jeremiah 2:13 CSB

3.   (In the Protection of the Shepherd).

Why are you in despair, O my soul?  And why have you become disturbed within me?  Hope in God… Psalm 42:11 NASB

1). Too comfortable  (complacency)

2). Too much wool. (self)

3). Too fat (self-assurance)

Because you say, “I am rich, and have become wealthy, and have need of nothing,” and you do not know that you are wretched and miserable and poor and blind and naked… Revelation 3:17 NASB

“What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it?  And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing. And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!’  I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine just persons who need no repentance.  Luke 15:4-7 NKJV
