What’s Next?

And they left the tomb quickly with fear and great joy and ran to report it to His disciples. And behold, Jesus met them and greeted them. And they came up and took hold of His feet and worshiped Him. Matt. 28:8-9 NASB

So when it was evening on that day, the first day of the week, and when the doors were shut where the disciples were, for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood in their midst and said to them, “Peace be with you.”  And when He had said this, He showed them both His hands and His side. The disciples then rejoiced when they saw the Lord.  John 20:19-20 NASB

While they were telling these things, He Himself stood in their midst and said to them, “Peace be to you.”…

And when He had said this, He showed them His hands and feet. While they still could not believe it because of their joy and amazement, He said to them, “Have you anything to eat?”  They gave Him a piece of broiled fish, and He took it and ate it before them. Luke 24:36, 40-43 NASB

3 Essentials for Every Believer

1.  (Worship)

(Worship is more than attending church)

(An expression of your love for God)

In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 1 John 4:10 NASB

       (Singing)

     (Praying)

     (Studying the Bible)

     (Participating in Baptism & Communion)

Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.  Rom. 12:1 NASB

(Worship is both personal and corporate)

(An experience of the presence of God)

       (Moses)

When the LORD saw that he had turned aside to look, God called to him from the midst of the bush and said, “Moses, Moses!”  And he said, “Here I am.”  Then He said, “Do not come near here; remove your sandals from your feet, for the place on which you are standing is holy ground.”  He said also, “I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.”  Then Moses hid his face, for he was afraid to look at God.   Ex. 3:4-6 NASB

       (Isaiah)

In the year of King Uzziah’s death I saw the Lord sitting on a throne, lofty and exalted with the train of His robe filling the temple. Seraphim stood above Him, each having six wings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew.

And one called out to another and said, “Holy, Holy, Holy is the LORD of hosts, the whole earth is full of His glory.” Is. 6:1-3 NASB

Then I said, “Woe is me, for I am ruined!  Because I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.”  Is. 6:5 NASB

       (The Early Church)

When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place. And suddenly there came from heaven a noise like a violent rushing wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. And there appeared to them tongues as of fire distributing themselves, and they rested on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit was giving them utterance.  Acts 2:1-4 NASB

(An exercise of the power of God)

     (Moses’ return to Egypt)

     (The response of Isaiah)

     (Development of the Church)

And the congregation of those who believed were of one heart and soul; and not one of them claimed that anything belonging to him was his own, but all things were common property to them. And with great power the apostles were giving testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and abundant grace was upon them all. Acts 4:32-33 NASB
