Telling your story with your words and actions is the most effective way to engage your world. Locally, we offer opportunities to share your story by volunteering with those in need in schools, prisons, and on our campus. Engaging your world starts with the people in your community and can expand to a national effort. We support church plants in Detroit, Michigan, as they spread the love of Christ. People need to hear about the love of Christ all around the world, as well.
When we encourage people to engage their world intentionally, we know that the world begins in our community, where we work, play, and live. We also know it’s not going to happen by accident. We have to intentionally or purposefully look for opportunities to develop relationships with people who are not Christians. Contact Nick Grice at (704) 822-1933, ext. 205, to learn more about these opportunities.
Prison Ministry
Join us in serving the prisoners and staff at the Lincoln County Correctional Center. We regularly hold a worship service for the inmates and need people to accompany us. We also have cookouts and games for the inmates and staff at different times throughout the year. This requires lots of willing hands!
Reading with Students
Do you want to make a lasting impact on the life of a child? Volunteer to read with students who need extra attention for about an hour a week.
Dental Clinic
Real Life Church hosts a mobile dental clinic at the Lucia Campus each fall season. This ministry provides fillings, extractions, and cleanings for the less fortunate in our area. We need many volunteers, especially dentists, hygienists, and dental assistants.
Hesed House of Hope
We provide a meal for homeless shelter residents on the 3rd Sunday of each month. Help is needed with meal prep and serving from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. We also host a Bible study/devotion time on the 3rd Sunday of each month from 7:45 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The King's Daughters Ministry
The King’s Daughters Ministry is a residential ministry providing counseling, education, and daily life skills to women 18-30 and their children who may be homeless, battered, self-harming, or recovering from substance abuse.
RLC Food Pantry
The generosity of our members and the larger community has exponentially expanded our food pantry ministry. We collect food and toiletry items and disperse them to those in our community as needed during church office hours, 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday through Thursday.
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” (Acts 1:8 NIV)
When we encourage people to engage their world intentionally it goes far beyond our own community, as Jesus said it goes, “to the ends of the earth”. So we seek to share the love of Christ with our words and actions all over the world. That’s why we provide opportunities for you to engage globally.
We partner with World Vision to support children overseas. Last summer, we were "chosen" by children in Zambia and hosted a Global 6k for Water this spring.
