Baptism

May 2024 will be a month of baptisms!

Questions about baptism?

When?

After you have made the personal decision to follow Jesus. We offer baptisms after regular worship services several times a year.

Why?

Baptism is a picture of Jesus' death, burial and resurrection. It's a public display of a private decision. It is showing everyone that you have put your faith in Jesus and have decided to follow Him for the rest of your life.

What it isn't?

Baptism does not save us or allow us to live in Heaven with God when we die. Only faith in Jesus Christ saves us. Baptism is an act of obedience that is paired with our decision.

Was Jesus Baptized?

Yes! This is from Matthew 3:13-17: Then Jesus came from Galilee to the Jordan to be baptized by John. But John tried to deter him, saying, “I need to be baptized by you, and do you come to me?" Jesus replied, “Let it be so now; it is proper for us to do this to fulfill all righteousness.” Then John consented. As soon as Jesus was baptized, he went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on him. And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.”
